To Our Valued Patients,

For those who have yet to hear, we are pleased to inform you that High Street Dental is now Ladysmith Smiles, accommodating all returning patients and accepting new ones of all ages. Ladysmith Smiles occupies the same bright and beloved space at 225 High Street, Ladysmith, BC.

With Dr. Holly Balkie’s retirement well underway, she has happily passed the practice to Dr. Nadia Stymiest, who will be a familiar face to many in the community already, and if not, hers will definitely be a friendly new one. Since 2013, Dr. Stymiest has been practicing as a general dentist and serving the Nanaimo area. Her practice includes all aspects of dentistry, with a particular interest in oral surgery, pediatrics and restorative dentistry.

Since graduating from Boston University, Dr. Stymiest has continued to invest in furthering her education with courses such as Invisalign, Nitrous Oxide Sedation, and botox. Being a mom of two herself, Dr. Stymiest is passionate about creating a safe, friendly environment for young families, all the way through to retired couples.

Above all else, Dr. Stymiest is on a mission to make excellent dental care accessible to every smile in Ladysmith and the surrounding area. Ladysmith Smiles aims to feel like your dental home, a place where you’ll always be treated like family.

To help you get to know your new family dentist a little bit better, here are five things you may not know about Dr. Stymiest:

1 . She loves to garden, grow flowers and write poetry, some of which has been exhibited.
2 . Dr. Stymiest used to be a pilot!
3 . She is multilingual, speaking English, Spanish, Hindi and Urdu. If you speak any of these, Dr. Stymiest would love to brush up on her skills during your next appointment!
4. When she’s not Dr. Stymiest, she is ‘Mom’ to two kiddos (Zara and Zayn) and out of the family, she has the biggest sweet tooth!
5 . She loves puns and knock-knock jokes…make sure you ask her (and the rest of the Ladysmith Smiles team) for their best dental joke during your next visit! With that being said, we will leave you with a little dental riddle: What do you call a dentist’s advice? Any guesses? Make sure you ask our team for the answer when you come in!

All Smiles Welcome,
